Dr Serrano-Ikkos is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist currently working in the NHS (ST Mark’s Hospital) and privately. Previously, she was a staff member at Great Ormond Street Hospital for 14 years, where she was involved in clinical, research and service development, and international teaching activities.
Dr Serrano-Ikkos studied clinical psychology at the Autonoma University of Madrid, completing postgraduate degrees in Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy; and Systemic Family Therapy at University College, University of London, where she also completed her Ph.D. In addition, she is a fully trained Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist.
Her special interests are psychological interventions for Psychological Trauma (e.g. personal injury) and to enhance quality of life in chronic physical and debilitating illness (e.g. cancer; IBS). She also provides a wide range of services for children, adolescents and adults including Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Phobias, Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, School/Work Related Stress, Anger, Confidence & Self Esteem, Relationships and Bereavement.
